ExpatHouse has been providing coaching services for Fiskars Polska since year 2010. During this period the coach Ms Anitta Koskio proved to be able to help in various difficult issues....
Sylwester DmowskiThe leading performers in the organisation are usually smart and technically skilled. That’s why behavioural issues become more and more important the higher in the corporate ladder somebody is. In fact, even when all other things are not equal, it is people skills that often make the difference in how high somebody goes.
A common challenge in companies today is to make their teams work effectively and achieve desired results in the environment of rapid change and growing business demands. More and more local teams need to have skills to work with their cross-border colleagues. Matrix type of working with peers, direct reports and bosses often all in different locations, brings challenges to communication, trust building and knowledge sharing which are the core elements for successful team cooperation.
Hundreds of Scandinavian and Finnish companies have investments and business activities in Poland. Many companies also hire Poles to work in the home organisation in the north. When entering the new attractive market in the heart of CEE there is a well-prepared strategy and budget and lots of hope and good will. Often times though there is no plan how to make people work towards the common goal.
More and more employees experience working outside home organisations as a natural part of their career path. It may mean intensive traveling and commuting or a longer stay in the new job location, for a few months or even a few years. In longer international assignments partners and families usually follow the expat to the new destination. One nearby market to Scandinavian and Finnish companies is Poland. What often comes as a surprise is that mental distance between Poland and the Nordic countries is much longer than what the geographical distance might suggest.
ExpatHouse has been providing coaching services for Fiskars Polska since year 2010. During this period the coach Ms Anitta Koskio proved to be able to help in various difficult issues. The results have exceeded our expectations and therefore I don’t hesitate to recommend Ms Anitta Koskio to anybody looking for an experienced high class coach.

Metso Power Service started co-operation with ExpatHouse 2008 and training of our staff has been very intensive since that. During that time we have more than doubled our business in Poland and thanks belongs very much to effective training of our people. The training has included cross cultural training, team coaching and personal, tailor made training for key persons. Results are impressive and we can recommend the support of ExpatHouse to everybody who is planning to expand his business in Poland.

I have been very fortunate to have had Ms. Anitta Koskio as my personal coach for the past year now. Her huge experience about Poland, the Polish culture and work environment has been an invaluable aid on many occasions and I have certainly learnt to navigate and approach things in a different way than before. I still enjoy the pleasure of working with her and sharing my thoughts about matters for which I, every now and then, feel uncertain about in our large organization.

Going for the first session I was very cautious and full of doubts if coaching is going to be in any way helpful, but after the first meeting my life has changed. Anitta is a very nice person characterized by empathy and openness to the others. Due to those values she has excellent skills to guide you through all of the process. I am looking forward to the next session.

Anitta Koskio's coaching process opened up new perspectives for me to look at my own behavior, goals and self-development. Due to effective method the sessions, which were also refreshing and fun, helped me in a very concrete way and my time schedule was always respected. The coaching also increased my knowledge how to cooperate with Poles even though I already had years of business experience with them before the coaching.

ExpatHouse organised cultural training for all UPM Raflatac expatriates and their families who arrived to Poland for international assignment. All participants felt training was very useful and it gave good base understanding of Polish culture and lifestyle. ExpatHouse conducted also workshop for Polish managers on Finnish culture. These trainings have helped us to understand each culture better and therefore reduced cultural barrier by great deal.

Together with Anitta we went through the change from a local company to an essential part of global company. Anitta also showed me the importance of cross-cultural differences in international business.

I have been cooperating with Anitta Koskio from Expat House since 2010. Anitta prepared and has conducted with me the academic courses in Cross-Cultural Management for the CEMS MIM program (Master’s in International Management ranked top 3 in the world in the Financial Times ranking). Anitta’s presentations are really admired by students who appreciate her knowledge, experience but also presentation skills and personality. Working with Anitta has been a rewarding experience both professionally and privately.
